Magic Dog includes a specialty store for dogs, cats and their human companions. In addition to premium dog/cat foods, training items and the like, the Shoppe includes home accessories, artwork and clothing.

Recall sparks rise in natural pet food sales

By now, we hope that everyone is aware of the huge recall of foods and treats many of our canine and feline pets have been eating. This recall should no longer be considered just a Menu Foods recall. Foods made at other plants, including kibbled foods and treats, are now affected. These recalls are still being considered voluntary. There is much information regarding the specific foods available through local news, papers and nationally on the internet.

We are always reviewing our foods and looking to the future of pet food. We do not carry a single food on the recall list. We do not carry a single food that contains wheat fragments or glutens. The food companies we have chosen source their own ingredients, never relying on a third party to procure them. They have cleaning and sanitizing practices, and protocols in place for testing their foods.

We are often asked why we do not carry more organic foods. We feel that organic is not always as it appears We are are aware and very concerned about the new, weaker standards implemented by congress. The Organic Trade Association and the Organic Foods Production Act pushed for these weaker recommendations, which include allowing synthetic substances and substituting non-organic ingredients without notifying the public.

We have "Urban Wolf" and "Honest Kitchen", both a non-grain dry mix to add to raw meat/fish making it easy to have a home-made diet.
